I know what you’re thinking: “Everybody who’s running is involved to some extent or another… What exactly does Aidan have that the others don’t?“
The answer is simple; a vision for the Lit that makes it an example for other councils to look to for guidance.
Everybody has been talking about increasing the Lit’s visibility, shedding the “clique”-y reputation that has developed, and ensuring council transparency. Speaking frankly, a visible, non-”clique”-y, transparent council should never be a goal. It should be a reality, not rhetoric.
My campaign’s theme, the 101 Reasons, is symbolic of how I see the Lit becoming the shining example of successful councils everywhere: regardless of how you feel about each individual reason (or campaign, or event), there is undoubtedly at least one with which you identify and support.
That’s where I see the Lit’s future: a council that involves and inspires everyone in the UC community. Developing this forward-thinking mindset is one step further than a simple “visibility, non-clique-y, transparency” goal; in fact, the latter is inherently included in the former.
How do I plan on doing this? That’s my equivalent of a secret recipe: it will only be revealed when it needs to be. Rest assured, however, that a vote for me will lead to an effective voice on council, driven by this desire to serve all of the students it represents.

Secret Recipe….that short of sounds like a campaign platform… Isn’t that kind of important to know???
In my mind, yes and no. For you, Olver, apparently yes. And that’s exactly the type of feedback I’m hoping to get next year, not only about myself but about the Lit as a whole: where our pre-conceived notions are failing us.
To give an answer without giving away TOO many specifics, I plan on working with the Council to encourage collecting measurable feedback at at least three key points during the year. Just how this feedback will be collected and what the key moments are will remain my little secret until Friday afternoon…
